Conferencia - General Conference

It was Spring Break here so I was not working so I was able to watch more diligently when they came in.  It was great to be able to ask him a few things and hear his fun personality in his writing.  I updated him on some of the mission calls that have been opened lately of his fellow WX classmates that were juniors when he was a senior last year.  He sounds so good and  he told me about writing an email to his companion's mom.  She had just sent a message to me saying what sweet young man he was and how we raised him well.  I assured her that he did a lot of it on his own.  He truly is amazing that way.  Enjoy, it's another great one.

Well first thing first; yes I got to watch conference in English! ha ha we had to talk with this guy from the stake in Potosi and get his I pad where we watched it in our church just me and my comp in English and about 20 other ward member came to watch it in Spanish with us! Way dope! I think the last time I really watched conference was about a year ago because last six months was here.. In Spanish, and then the other year I was working so it was way awesome to hear it again in my native language haha!

Lunes- after pday from Potosi we headed back to our lessons with this one family we have been teaching for a while their names are Roberto and Anantonia; they are way dope and understand the bible and our message really well when we were talking with them they went and got us a snack.. which here in a pueblo a snack is potatoes.  Potatoes with salsa, and we just get like cooked potatoes and eat them with our hands dipping it in salsa, this pueblo is all farm fields so they all have papas or corn for us to eat it's way funny.

Martes- every Tuesday or at least once a week we have district meeting where we just have a little class so every day we leave our house at around 8 and then get back home around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, eat lunch and try to work for like two hours and then we study in the night.  Here in Betanzos, there are not really street lights and it's coming into winter here so it gets dark at like 6!  So it's impossible to find people, so we always work in the morning which helps quit a bit.

Miercoles- the work in this area is really hard like I have said before a lot of the people speak another language so it's really hard to find people so a lot of our days are just contacting and looking for people who speak Spanish, but just about every day we can find at least one person and share a message with them, the people who do speak Spanish here really want to listen which is way cool.

Jueves- We were teaching this one guy that we found last week named Heber and he is really cool we just pass by his store to see when he has time to talk and when he does he is really interested.  So we shared the message of the restoration and told him if you really want to know if this message is true you can pray and he was so amazed by that answer he said that he has talked with tons of other religions and all of them confuse him more and  he has never heard of just praying to God to know.  He was so happy and really excited for us to come back next week, as a missionary our job is to invite others to Christ.  We have the truth and all we can do is share it.  It's their part to pray and find out if it is true through prayer.

Viernes- umm I don{t remember what day this was but this week I bought a sling shot ha ha, now this sling shot was 10 bolivianos so like 1.20 dollars ha ha and here there are more pigs and dogs than people so every once and a while when dogs are barking at me I hit them with my sling shot.  If you don't want to put that in the email I understand but you gotta have some fun every now and then, I have had a lot of practice with that wrist rocket I had back at my cabin.  (from mom:  I think it's worth putting that in; he's an excellent shot)

Sabado, Domingo- pretty much just a normal conference weekend, since our bishop here is sick and in Argentina the people in the stake would call us to see how many people were in the church for conference clean and just about everything else.  But conference was way dope! Those new changes and announcements about home teaching and the elders quorum was crazy.  Here in Betanzos only about 20 people come to church so usually its sacrament meeting with everyone, Sunday School with everyone, and then the third hour where it's just girls and boys does not matter your age so that didn't really affect us much here in the area, but it will be cool to come back to the old Orchard 5th Ward!

Yeah all and all good times down here in Betanzos there's not much but it's a good time when we find some new children of God to teach.  Love ya all!

oh yeah I totally forgot my camera again haha, sorry photos next week.

sorry mom

Thank heavens for Facebook.  One of the other missionary mom's had posted a picture that Caleb was in.  Funny thing was, he was not wearing his glasses and I almost didn't recognize him right off.  Her comment was they almost didn't recognize their son as he doesn't wear glasses; and in the picture he was wearing glasses...Caleb's.  Funny!  So, she was nice enough to let us take the picture and add it to his book.
